The Captain of Flight RE 231 had to shut down one of the two turbo-prop engines of his aircraft because of a technical fault detected shortly after take-off. There were 30 passengers and five crew members on board.Airport emergency services, backed up by local authority fire and ambulance crews, were on standby when the aeroplane landed safely at Shannon, shortly after 10 a.m. this morning.
The passengers have since been transported to Galway by bus.
